Dianne
Dianne van Vessem, a member of the Saint Margaret’s Bay Group, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s five years ago. Since then she has been nicknamed the Energizer Bunny because of her commitment to fitness and the Curves Exercise Program.
Dianne loves Curves, with its friendly people, accommodating staff and easy to use machines. She meets up with a group of friends who all go at least three times a week. Even in the snowy weather Dianne will shovel the driveway before heading to Curves.
“I say I’m dedicated, my husband says I’m stubborn.”
Whether its dedication or stubbornness that push Dianne, her doctors notice her mobility improves and her Parkinson symptoms are minimized with exercise. When the local Curves closed for a month she had difficulty walking and after only one time back, walking was much easier again.
