Cory Welsh, a 23 year old Sarnia native, has been cycling this summer for Parkinson''s Research. June 25th, 2012, marked the beginning of his 71 day cycling journey from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Halifax, Nova Scotia. His goal is to raise $50,000, with all proceeds being donated to research for Parkinson’s. Cory’s father, Robert Welsh, is the inspiration and the reason for this event. Robert Welsh was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a few years ago.
On September 3rd help us give Cory a warm welcome and celebrate the end of his fundraising journey. Your attendance will help raise the profile of Parkinson''s disease in the HRM. If you are cyclist and have any interest in cycling in with Cory please contact smaynard@parkinsonmaritimes.ca

Parkinson’s Cycle of Hope is a National event that promises to be a step in the right direction, to new developments in Canadian research, aiding the courageous people who are fighting this devastating disease.
It is easy to become entangled in the gloom of our fast paced world, but we enjoy the thought of people coming together through acts of altruism to allow others to enjoy their lives to the fullest. Cory''s dad looks forward to a day where Parkinson’s is no longer part of his life and I hope we can aid in making his dream a reality for each and every person affected by this disease. We encourage you to support our cause, as we make this bike tour across Canada to raise funds for Parkinson Research & spread awareness along the way!fected by Parkinson''s disease.
Donations will support Parkinson Canada’s National Peer Reviewed Research Program but will be attributed to the region from which the donation is received
