Resource Centre
The Maritime Region office is host to two Resource Centres free to all registered members of the Society, the newly diagnosed, health care providers and friends & loved ones of those with Parkinson’s, one based in Halifax and the Vogue Optical Resource Centre in Charlottetown.
The Centre is made up of books, journals and articles about Parkinson’s research, drug therapies, treatments, tips for daily living and more. The Centre also maintains a collection of videos that deal with Parkinson’s. We have a general information kit available to individuals who are newly diagnosed or are just looking for some general information. These items are available to the public on loan for a three week period. The centre in Halifax is equipped with a public computer and an extensive CD/DVD Library. It is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. You can borrow publications or videos by contacting the Maritime Region office via our Toll Free Info Line (1-800-663-2468)
A complete listing of all available resources including brochures, fact sheets, books, videos and more can be downloaded here. (Updated April 3, 2012!)
We also invite people to visit our office and use our facilities to read journals and articles, as well as screen videos.
