Planning Your Event
Parkinson Society Maritime Region is grateful to all those wishing to help raise funds for support services, education programs and research. The Society wants to help those interested while ensuring events do not overlap and presents the Society in a positive light.
There are some important guidelines that we, and you, must follow so the Society can assist you in your fundraising and also affect how we are able to be the beneficiary of your efforts.
While the Society is a registered charity able to issue tax receipts for donations, CCRA (Canada Customs and Revenue Agency) has regulations guiding this procedure. Discussions must be held with the Society in advance to ensure proper guidelines are followed, if required as part of the event.
The Society may also be able to provide materials on Parkinson’s and the Parkinson's Society at your event and you may also wish to invite a representative to be present. Advance notice is required and discussions can include this type of support.
Completing the Event Letter of Understanding is the first step towards hosting a successful event in support of the Parkinson Society. We encourage you to complete this and send it to us for review. Forms can be faxed to (902) 422-3797, emailed or mailed to:
